Wendy Barrien Lawrence is a retired United States Navy lieutenant, former helicopter pilot, engineer and former NASA astronaut. She was the first U.S. Naval Academy graduate student to fly in space, and she also visited the Russian Mir space station. She was a mission specialist on STS-114, the Space Shuttle's first flight after the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster.
